The Mobile Lubrication Unit for aerospace industry
The MLU System, specifically crafted for Automatic Drill Units (ADU-Advanced Drilling Units), operates on Minimum Quantity Lubrication principles. Its standout feature is the portable magnetic holder, tailored for aircraft construction, which seamlessly attaches to standard drilling feed units.
Equipped with a specialized control system, the Mobile Lubrication Unit (MLU) automatically toggles the Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL) process on or off, adapting dynamically to the demands of different sandwich materials. This unique control system ensures precise oil-flow cutoff when passing through the CFRP layer, leaving the drilling site completely dry.
The MLU is compatible with all commonly available ADUs, offering the flexibility of manual, electrical, or pneumatic activation for lubrication cycles. Its portable design allows adjustment to various material layers encountered in aircraft construction.
Supplied with a 5-meter flexible hose, the system can be battery-operated and features magnets for secure mounting on ferromagnetic surfaces.
In aircraft construction, dealing with diverse sandwich materials like titanium, CFRP, and aluminum presents a challenge. Each material layer possesses distinct properties, requiring varying degrees of lubrication or sometimes none at all. With thousands of bores to be manually drilled using advanced drilling units, the MLU stands as the optimal solution for the aerospace industry, catering to automatic drill units in aircraft construction of any size and type. It can be employed for both internal and external lubrication through spindle, including single spindle applications.
